How to declutter the bathroom

First, do a great purge of your bathroom. Go through your stuff and decide what should be kept, consolidated, and removed. Grab a free printable checklist of things to sort through, including:

  • Towels
  • Make up
  • Hair and hair care supplies
  • Skin care products
  • Medicine
  • Toiletries
  • Personal care items
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Kids toys and items

Countertops

The hardest part for me to keep clutter free is the bathroom countertop. Using a cute two-tiered basket like this helps keep items accessible yet put away. (via Golden Boys and Me)

Drawers

Perfect cabinet organization solution. Use plastic baskets within your drawers for the simplest drawer organization hack ever. (via The Summery Umbrella)

Under sink

Here’s a handy place to store your hair accessories like dryers and curlers. Affix a file folder on the door of your under sink cabinet to keep these items together and out of the way. (via Pin image)

Linen closet

Closets usually mean more space, but also more opportunity to make into a mess. You can never go wrong with pretty labels for perfect closet organization. (via Organizing Moms)

Medicine cabinet

To keep my small bedroom organized, make up goes where the mirror is, which is in my bathroom, and more specifically, behind the medicine cabinet for easy access.

Here is a selection of wall mounted pods* to help shelves stay clutter-free.

Above toilet

Create these adorable shelves by hanging woven baskets on the wall space above the toilet. (via Simply DIY 2)

Toilet reading station

If you keep reading materials to keep you occupied on the toilet, try this simple hanger on a hook or knob to create a hanging space for your magazines so they don’t take up precious floor space. (via J'adore Le Decor)

Toilet paper rolls

The worst is when you run out of toilet paper and can’t reach your extra store. Prevent that with this simple solution to store extra toilet paper rolls right under the current roll you’re using. Brilliant! (via Make It Love It)

Shower wall

Who would have thought to use shower walls for storage? For shampoo and body wash bottles, this nifty dollar store bathroom organization hack requires two simple supplies, hairties and suction cups, to keep your bottles hanging. (via Dollar Store Crafts)

Shower rod

Install an extra shower rod and add hooks as another solution to keeping your shower items off the ledges and walls. (via Good Housekeeping)

Behind the door

Such an ingenious way to utilize space behind the door. Hang your bath towels to maximize the real estate in your bathroom. (via Pin image)

Mason jar

A cute way to store supplies like q-tips and cotton balls that are easy to get to but still stay out of the way. (via The DIY Playbook)
