One of the biggest challenges with using a bujo is how much time that can be wasted making bullet journal collections and spreads look pretty. Especially for someone like me who has no artistic bone in my body, it takes me FOREVER to add a little personality to my pages.
But with the wonderful, wonderful existence of bullet journal accessories, it is so easy to dress up my pages while still being practical with my planner and time. Let me show you my favorite bullet journal hacks with washi tape.

With all the wonderful rolls of washi you have, create a fun bullet journal spread that showcases all the pretty patterns. (via Pin image)Side index
Taping the sides of your most important pages makes it so easy to reference. Great bullet journal index hack. (via Pin image)Dividers
Go a step further and create divider tabs to make it more convenient to flip to those desired bullet journal collection pages. (via Pin image)Paper clip flags
Use washi tape to dress up standard clips if you want more flexibility in marking which are your most important pages, such as your most current:

Simple page embellishment
Just stick a length of tape after your title or in other empty spaces of your bujo to give it a pop of color like you would with planner stickers. (via Pin image)Header
It also works very well as a header design; you can go minimalist in your bullet journal like this spread, or you can also use it as the design behind the days of the week or for other longer headers. (via @journalspiration)Banner
If you’re looking for something a little more elaborate than the header or bullet journal doodle, try using it in your banners. (via @my_bujolife)Creative negative border
Speaking of banners and headers, you can also use it to create the negative space for other patterns, like putting cursive font within block letters. Divider
Or use a pretty, shiny pattern as dividers, such as between the different days in this weekly. (via @einfach_lilienhaft)Full page spread
For more hardcore usage, create an entire spread out of washi tape, like this one, with washi tape headers, dividers, and embellishments. So pretty! (via Pin image)Actual tape
Well, it is tape, so why not use it as a cute way to stick some memorabilia, like from a recent trip, for a little scrapbooking in your bullet journal. (via @tdpjournals)Cover up mistakes
It’s also perfect for covering up mistakes, especially if you're working on improving your hand lettering. Much more appealing than off-white correction tape. (via Pin image)Cute pen loop
This is such a practical way to keep your writing utensil with your notebook. I love how you can move this pen loop easily from notebook to notebook since you’re using binder clips to affix it. (via Everyday Awesome TV)Create pocket
Last but not least, customize your own pocket to store the little things that are handy to have on hand but can get lost easily, like bullet journal stickers or a stencil and ruler. (via The Modest Cat)Conclusion
These washi tape bullet journal hacks are a perfect marriage of function and aesthetics so that you can have a planner that is productive and pretty at a fraction of the time.
